The panel is in very good condition. The pinstripe panels are crisp and legible. Several faint scuffs and pencil marks were observed on the panel with the white background and black pinstripes as well as minor cracking in the wood below. Despite these tiny cracks the paint is stable with no lifting paint or losses evident on the surface. A tiny paint loss was found on the proper right top corner of the black panel. The white frame that encases the two pinstriped panels displays some minor soiling especially along the edges and under the top horizontal panel. The edge on the bottom panel presents several tiny paint losses. Dimensional cracking along the wood grain, which is characteristic of aged wood, was observed below the white paint on the bottom panel. The cracking has not resulted in paint loss. The seams where the horizontal panels meet up with the central vertical panel are slightly open due to movement of the wood. All of the suspended rods are accounted for. Minor paint loss was found on the white rods. The panel is structurally sound. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Wilson Conservation.)
