SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND BROOCH/PENDANT, EARLY 20TH CENTURY

The open work plaque centring on an oval sapphire, floral motifs and borders millegrain-set with circular- and single-cut diamonds to a trace link chain, length approximately 740mm, brooch and pendant fitting interchangeable, one small diamond deficient.

Accompanied with a small screwdriver to be able to change the fittings to the reverse from pendant to brooch and vice versa. Sapphire measuring approximately 12 x 10.3 x 6.35mm, calculated to weigh approximately 6.59 carats, medium blue, uneaven colour distribution, banding and typical inclusions visible with magnification, scratches and nicks to facets. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 7.00 - 8.00 carats, of mixed colours and clarities. Scratches to mount consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
