Designed as a stylised owl with one eye closed, the crystallized agate geode applied with a collet-set cabochon sodalite, signed Grima, maker's marks and British assay marks for London, 1975, case Grima, London.

Condition

Stamped with the British standard mark, mounted in silver, signed Grima, maker's marks and British assay marks for London, 1975, surface of the nose section of polished and textured silver; secure clasp. Heavy jewel weighing approximately 63.3 grams. In very good condition.

Andrew Grima was awarded The Duke of Edinburgh's Prize for Elegant Design in 1966 for a similar crystallized agate geode jewel made in 1962.
