  • AGATE, GOLD AND DIAMONDS
The carved agate head of a blackamoor wearing a turban, accented with old mine and circular-cut diamonds, the underside with a carved intaglio seal depicting Salome holding the head of John the Baptist, accompanied by a later oval link chain, length approximately 600mm.

Condition

Later chain stamped 375 and 9ct for 9 carat gold, British hallmarks for Birmingham, 1995. Agate carving with typical banding, chip and abrasions to reverse due to being worn. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.00 - 1.10 carats, bright, lively stones. Traces of dirt and tarnish to metal consistent with age and wear, could benefit from a careful professional clean. In good condition.
