GOLD AND GEM-SET PARURE, CIRCA 1825

Comprising: a necklace, brooch and bracelet set with foil backed faceted amethyst, pearls and gold bead work, and three later drops set with pear-shaped amethyst, two mounted as earrings and one as drop on brooch, necklace length approximately 410mm, bracelet length approximately 176mm, earrings with hook fittings, later alterations, fitted cases, Hunt & Roskell, part illustrated.

Necklace, brooch and bracelet: some repairs to back not visible from front, dents to back, scratches consistent with age and wear, later pendant fittings. Replacement link to front of necklace. Secure claps to necklace and bracelet. Amethysts in necklace, brooch and bracelet with coloured foil behind, possibly with red tinted foil making the face up colour appear pinkish purplish red creating a similar look to red tourmaline also known as rubellite. Some scratches consistent with age and wear. Half pearls well matched in size and colour, untested. Amethysts in later date earrings and drop well matched and not backed. In good condition.
