  • GOLD AND CHRYSOBERYL
Comprising: a necklace and earrings and brooch set with various mixed-cut chrysoberyl in closed back settings, within repoussé work surrounds of scroll, floral and scallop shell motifs, the earrings and brooch with cannetille wire work, burr and beading, necklace length approximately 370mm, one chain detached, chain later extended, earrings with hook fittings, one deficient, brooch later metal pin, fitted case Edward Bright, 13 Pavillion Buildings, Brighton.

Condition

Necklace: alterations to chain to back, later extensions to either side, approximately 30mm, one chain detached near to clasp, held only with thread. Could benefit from careful professional attention by a jeweller. Earrings: one hook fitting deficent, broken, could benefit from repair by a professional jeweller. Brooch: later pin, metal pin, traces of gold solder to reverse not visible when worn. Chrysoberyl a very light yellowish green, of varying tones, some with nicks and abraded facet junctions. Scratches and indentations and tarnish to parure consistent with age and wear. Case with signs of wear and scratches, leather torn in places.
