  • TOPAZ AND DIAMOND
Centring on a mixed-cut topaz, within a border of circular- and single-cut diamonds, suspending a pear-shaped diamond, later brooch fitting, composite jewel.

Condition

Elements of piece circa 1900, composite jewel, evidence of alteration and repair to reverse, repair to flower head cluster. Topaz a very light slightly brownish orange, nicks, chips, scratches, abraded facet junctions visible with magnification. Pear-shaped diamond estimated to weigh approximately 1.38 carats, colour L, estimated clarity I. Remaingi diamonds bright and lively. Screw thread fitting to reverse of topaz, probably for a brooch fitting, deficient. Bail fixed could benefit from attention by a professional jeweller.
