The wings composed of plique-à-jour enamel in shades of blue and green trimmed by rose-cut diamonds, the body designed as a line of old European-cut and single-cut diamonds leading to a translucent green enamel head, the total diamond weight approximately 2.50 carats, marker's marks for Edgar Bense, French assay marks.

Condition

The green-yellow area of the plique-a-jour enamelling is damaged (as seen in the catalogue illustration). Enamel is missing or poorly repaired near the body. Several other cells of lighter colored enamelling are shattered or fractured. Diamonds are of decorative quality. Stamped on the side of the dragonfly's tail and on the detachable pin mechanism with E clover B for Egar Bense. The mounting in good condition with general wear.
