Acquired from the above by the family of the present owner

Exhibited

London, Richard Nathanson at 'The Alpine Club', Pavel Tchelitchew; A Selection of Paintings, Gouaches and Drawings, London, 1972, no. 17, illustrated in the catalogue

Condition

The board is stable and attached to the mount along the upper edge. There are artist's pinholes to all four corners and to the centre of the upper and lower edges. There is a pinhead-sized paint loss at the right of the upper edge (not visible when framed). There is a 10cm. horizontal thin crease to the centre of the left edge and some further very small creases to the upper and right edges and to the upper left corner. Apart from some minor thinning to the board with associated medium loss in the upper right and lower left corners, this work is in good condition. Colours: Overall fairly accurate, although the original is slightly brighter in the original than in the catalogue illustration.
