Condition

The canvas is not lined. There are several retouchings to the centre of the sky, towards the top edge, a line to the lower centre, 12cm. in length, another directly above of 3cm., areas of retouching to the mountains in the background, a small line to the top left corner and a 10cm. line to the extreme bottom right edge to cover frame rubbing. There is a slanting line of craquelure, with possible old retouching to the centre right that faintly fuoresces under UV light. All retouching is visible under UV light. Apart from some overall craquelure and overall surface dirt this work is in fair condition. Colours: Overall less red and deeper in the original.
