Condition

The going train is running, by fits and starts. The split seconds work is not functioning at all, there is corrosion throughout the movement, the lever has been replaced from the classic Patek mustache lever to a more modern example and the balance has been repaired and there are traces of solder, which suggests that it will need to be replaced. In order to repair the watch it would have to be sent to Patek Philippe. Sotheby's cannot guarantee that the watch can be repaired nor for how much. Therefore potential purchasers should be advised that the watch is sold 'As Is' and not subject to return. The case shows scuffs throughout and the engraving to the case back reads 'R P'. The dial appears to have no visible hairlines.
