  • diameter 35 mm, overall length approximately 180 mm
• cal. 3035 automatic nickel lever movement, 27 jewels, mono-metallic • white dial, applied gold Roman numerals, luminescent hands, magnified aperture for date, center seconds, Olympic five joined ring emblem • stainless steel case, fluted gold bezel, screw-down crown and case back • case, dial and movement signed • with a yellow gold and stainless steel Rolex bracelet and folding clasp

Condition

Automatic movement running and date advancing while cataloguing, however it is recommended to get service. Dial looks nice and clean. Case and buckle with scuffs from normal wear. Overall appears in good condition. REF 16013 and serial #R735051

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Rolex Certificate, booklets, original swing tag, two spare links and a presentation box.  Further accompanied by a letter from Rolex. 

This Ref. 16013 is fitted with a  special dial featuring a polychrome Olympic rings emblem.  The Rolex certificate dated 4th July 1988 and letter dated 9th June 2010 both confirm sale of this wristwatch to the C.I.O. (Comité International Olympique) in 1988.          

Another version, Ref. 16233, featuring a custom-dial with the Olympic emblem in gilt printing, was produced in a limited quantity in 1996.  According to our research, this is the only Ref. 16013 known fitted with a dial featuring a polychrome Olympic rings emblem to appear at auction.
