• jeweled manual winding nickel lever movement, mono-metallic balance, minute repeating on two coiled goings with two steel hammers • 3/4 silvered guilloché dial, partially skeletonized to reveal minute repeating mechanism, Roman numerals in silver chapter ring • 18k gold polished case with hinged cover, repeating slide in the band, sapphire crystal display back • case, dial and movement signed, movement further signed Renaud Papi Claret • with an 18k gold Corum buckle

Condition

Manual winding movement running while cataloguing. Minute repeating function operational while cataloguing. Minute repeating sound is clear and well-paced. Dial looks nice and clean. Case and buckle with minor scuffs from light wear, but this is common and can be polished easily. Overall appears in excellent condition. Movement numbered 509625. Inside of case back numbered 526115.

Catalogue Note

This watch was produced in a limited series of only 25 pieces by Christophe Claret for Corum, and is numbered 25. 

Born in 1962, Christophe Claret was spending much of his time in a watchmaking shop by the early age of fourteen. At sixteen he enrolled in the Ecole d'Horlogerie in Geneva. After completing his training he worked at the bench buying, selling, restoring and building watches. In 1989 he opened his own company in La Chaux-de-Fonds that later relocated to Le Locle in 1998. Claret produces his masterpieces of watchmaking for many different famous brands, including Corum.
