Catalogue Note

Reference 2549 was produced with two reference numbers, 2549/1 and 2549/2. Stylistically, however, at least three versions were made, two with the so called horn-shaped lugs sometimes referred to by collectors as 'The Batman' and a third version with curled lugs (refer to lot 205).
Production of the reference began in 1954, the same year the present watch was made. Examples of the horn-shaped models are shown in Huber, M., Banbery, A.,
Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Second Edition, p.153.
