  • A FINE GOLD AND ENAMEL QUARTER REPEATING WATCH MADE FOR THE TURKISH MARKET CIRCA 1800
  • diameter 48.5 mm
• gilt full plate verge movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge, silver dial for regulator, hammer striking on gongs, gilt cuvette • white enamel dial, Turkish numerals • case fully decorated with polychrome enamel, depicting on the back a painted scene of a harbour



 

Condition

Movement not running while cataloguing, repeating mechanism striking, a service is recommended for the watch to be fully operational. Movement signed on the back plate and numbered 2252. Inside case back numbered 1732. Enamel with small missing parts to the bezel. Case back with painted enamel scene, scratches on the surface, signs of wear. Dial with minor scuffs on the surface, a small chip to the centre of hour and minute hands. Overall, this watch is a very interesting example of a watch made for the Turkish market with striking mechanism.
