Description

  • A SILVER, ONYX, ENAMEL AND DIAMOND-SET DESK TIMEPIECECIRCA 1920
  • height 7.5 cm
• circular jeweled movement • dial with translucent enamel over starburst guilloché ground, diamond-set hands • bezel overlaid with turquoise enamel, Roman numerals spaced by gold florets, shaped square onyx case, the corners enhanced by rose-cut diamonds (two lacking) • strut signed and numbered, inside of case numbered, movement numbered

Condition

The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The dial has some spots throughout. The bezel has several spots of loss and restoration to the blue enamel. The case is missing the two diamond enhancements to the lower corners. The onyx is in good condition throughout. There are two diamond stars, similar to the ones at the top corners, that are missing from the lower part. The strut is missing one screw. The movement is numbered 154132. The inside of the back cover is numbered 831 and 137. The strut is numbered 542 and signed Cartier Paris.
