- A GOLD, AGATE, ENAMEL, SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND-SET 8-DAY DESK TIMEPIECE WITH KINGFISHER FEATHER DIALCIRCA 1925
- height 8 cm
• circular movement, 15 jewels • dial with mosaic of kingfisher feathers radiating from the central arbor in vibrant tones of aquamarine and turquoise, hands set with rose-cut diamonds • gold bezel overlaid with white enamel, Roman numerals spaced by cabochon sapphires, shaped agate case, the lower corners enhanced by cabochon sapphires • outside of case signed Cartier, inside of case movement and strut signed European Watch & Clock Co., Inc and hand-stamped with Cartier reference numbers
Condition
The movement is currently running, however it may require service soon. King Fisher feather dial in good condition with the exception of a couple of almost imperceptible slight losses to the feathers. There are some chips to the edge of the crystal. The agate is in good order, with two very small chips to the edge of the case on the lower left side. There is some slight loss to the black enamel border of the chapter ring at 4 o'clock.
The inside of the back cover is signed European Watch & Clock Co, Inc., France, and numbered 1835 and 3282. The movement is signed EWC Co, France, Fab. Suisse. The strut is signed European Watch & Clock Co., Inc., 1835
