The case shape is excellently preserved, with very few scuffs. There is crisp definition throughout, a crisp 18k to the case back and a nice gold mark below the crown on the band. There are chips to the edge of the crystal at 2 o'clock and 4:30. The strap contains endangered species; please see Important Notices for further information.

Catalogue Note

The present model is distinguished by its stunning shape, which is flared horizontally and in its profile. The case was made by Baumgartner, one of Geneva's greatest case makers who was best known for the Ref. 2526. It is interesting to note that such a complex angular design would come from the workshop of a case maker not necessarily known for rectangular patterns.

An example of Ref. 2456 is illustrated in Huber, M. & Banbery, A., Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Vol. II, Second Edition, p. 137.
