Catalogue Note

Joyeria Riviera was established in 1943 in Havana, Cuba by the Abislaiman family who emigrated from Lebanon in 1915. It is believed the store was named Riviera because of the predominant French influence at the time in the world of haute couture, perfumes and luxury products.

The two-story mansion on fashionable Galiano Avenue in Havana offered a selection of fine watches, jewelry and gifts until it closed in 1961. Today, the family continues the tradition with locations in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Coral Gables, Florida.
