Condition

This painting has probably never been exhibited outside of its glazed frame and as such, is in beautiful condition. The canvas is still on its original stretcher. There is one area in the lower left where the canvas is slightly dented, which could be straightened out. Elsewhere the canvas seems to be well stretched, although slightly wavy on the left side. The painting should continue to be exhibited behind glass and is otherwise in perfect condition. The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
