Condition
Gouache and gold paint on board. The surface is dirty. There is minor paint loss around the edges and in each corner. There are scuffs and scratches to the surface and several tears to surface, including one small tear in legs of figure at right. There is some small craquelure and flaking to some areas of the surface including in the arms of the figure at right. There are several creases to surface and significant scratches in lower right corner. There are pinholes in each corner. Held in a gold painted wood frame with matte and under glass. Unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note
The offered work depicting a couple dressed in decorative, pastoral costumes may have been one of Sergei Sudeikin's designs for the 1915 production of Beaumarchais' The Marriage of Figaro at the Kamenny Theater.
