Condition
The catalogue illustration is slightly over-exposed and the painting is warmer in tones than it suggests. The canvas has a recent relining and is mounted in a modern wood gilt and moulded frame with some losses. To the naked eye the painting appears in very good condition and does not bear major damages or restoration. Inspection under UV light confirms its excellent condition and reveals only a restoration on the dark background, to her right, and another one on her breast.
