Description
- enamel, diamond, gold, seed pearl, rubie, watch
The enameled beetle set with rose-cut diamonds and round rubies for eyes, the wings open to reveal a circular dial, suspended from an enamel and seed pearl chain, length 28 inches.
Condition
The seed pearls have a waxy luster, the diamonds are of decorative quality. The piece opens by pushing on a thumbpiece located on the rear of the beetle's body, underneath the wings. Manual movement, currently running. Accompanied by a winding key which is housed inside the beetle' thorax. Some denting to the belly of the beetle, and some missing enamel at the top lobe of one wing; otherwise in good condition. Please note this piece is circa 1900 (the beetle is likely late 19th century and the chain early 20th century).
