  • Coral, diamond and gold
The brooch set with round diamonds weighing approximately 4.75 carats, mounted in yellow and white gold; the earclips set with round diamonds weighing approximately 1.25 carats, mounted in yellow and white gold.  Donald Clafin was responsible for the design of strawberry jewels such as these for Tiffany & Co.; both the brooch and earclips are illustrated in Extraordinary Jewels, by John Traina, p. 122, and a similar set from the Collection of Mrs. Walter Matthau are illustrated in Tiffany's 150 Years, by John Loring p. 168.

Condition

In good general condition. The brooch set with 110 round diamonds approximately G-I color and VS-SI clarity. Two of the coral strawberries are articulated. Numerous gold "seeds" are missing and there is some discoloration to the texturing of the gold. Evidence of glue residue where the berries are attached to the mounting. The earclips are set with 56 round diamonds approximately G-I color and VS-SI clarity. Several gold seeds missing. Unsigned.
