  • 33cm. 13in. diameter
the mechanical orrery with central brass sun and white-painted inner planets, Mercury and Neptune, the Earth with twelve engraved gores and with painted moon above rings with lunar and zodiacal scales, the circular horizon with restored engraved and coloured scales and inscribed Made and Sold by W & S Jones, 135 Holborn, London and A TABLE of the principal AFFECTIONS of the PLANETS, June 1st 1794, Published as the Act Directed by W & S Jones, with outer calendar and zodiacal rings, on turned mahogany feet

Condition

Globe and sun in good condition, moons have been painted with white and black paint. Paper scale has been extensively restored and over-written. Base in good condition with old marks and scratches to the feet. With replaced winder with ivory handle.
