Gilding is original with stains overall.
Vey fine quality of chasing, good colour of patina.
One element has been added between handles and nozzles in order to install electricity. No holes visible (base pierced underneath).

Catalogue Note
Ce modèle avec un enfant soufflant dans une conque se démarque de deux autres modèles assez proches, l'un avec les enfants opposés tendant leurs bras et l'autre avec les enfants jouant de la flûte.
Plusieurs exemples de ce modèle ont appartenu à différentes collections comme ceux de la collection Josse, vendus à la galerie Georges Petit, Paris, les 28-29 mai 1894, lot 41. Une autre paire provenant de la collection Hillingdon a été vendue chez Christie's à Londres le 14 mai 1971, lot 91. Enfin, citons la paire de la collection Hubert de Givenchy, vendue chez Christie's à Monaco le 4 décembre 1993, lot 5.
