French and Italian Schools, 17th-18th Century

All with the Heim Gallery, London, from whom purchased;
the mausoleum design bears an unidentified collector's mark, similar to that of Giovanni Piancastelli (L.2078a), and another, verso (not in Lugt);

Eleven in the lot. All unframed and mountred. The chalice laid down on an old album sheet. The design for the monstrance has some small tears and losses at the lower edge. Two are in poor condition- with yellowed paper and foxing, one with uneven edges and losses. The remainder, however, are all in reasonably good condition.

Including a design for a monstrance by Massimiliano Soldani-Benzi, inscribed in brown ink, verso: Lontani 48 miglia da Napoli, a design for a wall sconce in pen and brown ink and wash, bearing an old attribution to Algardi, and a 17th-century Italian School design in pen and brown ink and gray wash for a domed mausoleum, formerly attributed to Borromini.
