RELATED LITERATURE

Mallett 1964, p.16, no. 21

A 13-inch high terracotta version of A seated nude taking off her stocking was formerly in the Musée du Luxembourg and is now in the collections of the Petit Palais (inv.no.240). The model is believed to date from the latter years of Dalou's stay in England (1875-1880), when he attended to a series of intimate portrayals of women. Another version cast by the same foundry (no. 6/6) is in a private collection in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
