Catalogue Note

The present bronze was cast after a maquette dating circa 1892 of which a plaster (cast in 1902 by Bertault) is in Petit Palais (no.57). The maquette was the preparatory study for a figure of Fame crowning a monument to the Orateurs et Publicistes de la Restauration destined for the Panthéon. Another bronze version, no.4, is in the Musée Bonnat, Bayonne originally from the collection of Jacques Petithory.
