Condition
Very minor chips and surface abrasions. Nose reattached, minor repaired chip to chin, repaired breaks at neck, proper right wrist, proper left hand, proper right arm and part of platter. Stable overall. Beautiful quality.

Catalogue Note
Though of similar size and iconography as the previous lot, and initially sold as a pair, these two figures were probably not conceived as pendants.
The figures of a Roman Maiden holding a pair of flutes and a Vestal tending the sacred Fire, signed and dated in Rome 1768 in the Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, are stylistically close to and date from the same time as the present terracotta.
