Catalogue Note

In 1961, from May 27 to June 15, Jackson went with his painting companion, Maurice Haycock, to a new mining area on the Quebec-Labrador border, where they sketched around Schefferville.  He was here for about ten days and used rich vibrant colours to recall his vision of this remarkable northern landscapes.
