This painting has been viewed under UV and it is in very good condition. There is some minor paint loss along the edges, the lower left and upper right edges in particular. Some collaged pieces are lifting.

Catalogue Note
In 1954, Painters Eleven had their first show - William Ronald had his first one-man show a little later. Burton and fellow artist Gordon Rayner were so excited, Burton recalled Rayner and I went back to our studio that Sunday, painted our first non-objective abstract painting and vowed never to paint representationally again.
