Catalogue Note

Angus Trudeau was an Odawa Indian who worked on Great Lakes freighters from the age of twelve. When he retired and until his death, he devoted himself to painting portraits of these ships. His bold and uniquely charming portraits reflect the passion and fascination he had for these vessels.
