Slip seat frame replaced; refinished; proper left diagonal brace has been restored. Toes of feet with wear.

Catalogue Note

A closely related chair, albeit lacking stretchers, was sold at Christie's New York, Important American Furniture, Silver, Prints, Folk Art and Decorative Arts, January 19, 2001, sale no. 9529, lot 82.  A Boston easy chair with identical feet and knee returns was sold by Leigh Keno Antiques, Inc. and is now in a private collection.
