one portraying a scene of children playing in a courtyard, another of a snow covered landscape with servants busy preparing for winter, the third of a landscape with a master and servant hunting, and the fourth of two servants outside a large compound, with original Chinese gilt decorated black lacquer frames.

Provenance

Brought to Canada from Scotland in 1834;
thence by descent to the present owner.

Condition

The paintings appear to be in very good condition. They are dirty – with old varnish, but do not seem to have inpainting.
