Description

  • wood, Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) feathers, horse hair
standing in a dancing posture, grasping a rattle in his right hand and a long staff in the other, the case mask painted in opposing blocks of color, red and blue, and rectangular eyes in black, decorated with a tubular snout, and flanked by "ears" represented by a yellow squash blossom flower and a tuft of red-dyed horse hair tied with Ring-necked Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) feathers.

Condition

Both feet have been broken and re-glued with original pieces. Break at right forearm, re-glued with original piece. Surface is original and slightly dusty but otherwise very good original consition with typical wear and very minor abrasion.
