Description

  • wood, horsehair
or Flute, appears in Mixed Kachina Dance, finely carved with a stylized and elongated body, with cut-away arms, standing on squat legs, carrying a pair of drumsticks, wearing an embroidered cloth sash tied at the waist, the case mask painted with a triangular mouth and rectangular eyes, one blue and one yellow, the back, with a rectangular wood panel, possibly a shield or cradle board, trimmed with red-dyed horsehair.
