Literature

Pierre Staudenmeyer, La Céramique Française des années 50s, Paris, 2001, p. 282 (for a related vase)

Condition

Overall excellent condition. The piece was designed as a table lamp, and is not a reconfigured vase. With an opening in the underbase, which is inherent in the making. This yellow colored vessel with an overlaid speckling of orange glaze which adds a depth to the surface. Currently fitted with a modern off-white linen shade, which is not shown in the catalogue illustration. A rare example of the Ruellands design, it is believed to be the largest of the lamp models they produced.
