Condition

Overall in excellent original condition. This piece has remained with the present family since the 1930s. The gilt base with some minor oxidation and surface dirt consistent with age and use. There is a small component lacking to the base where it meets the shade. The shade still sits properly, however there is a small open space measuring less than a ¼ inch, because the shade and base don’t fit perfectly. The missing component looks like a small washer and could easily be replaced. With some slight oxidation to the base adjacent to the snake’s tail which appears slightly green in color. The glass shade with a brilliant orange hue. Some minor scratches to the outer surface of the glass shade caused from placement in the standard and rubbing against the top of the snake element. With original socket.
