Literature

Condition

Overall in very good condition. The candelabrum appears to retain its original rich russet brown and green patina. One arm appears to have been slightly bent in the past at the midsection of its upturning slope, as evidenced by associated wear and stress to the patina in this area. There are a few areas on the other arms which may have been very subtly bent in the past, but nothing which detracts from the overall presentation of the piece. The soldering which supports one of the stems to the adjacent stems on the standard with minor separations in the upper half of the standard. The patinated bronze surfaces throughout show light wear and occasional surface abrasions consistent with age and gentle use. With surface soiling throughout in the recessed contours, and with traces of old green wax on the tops and interiors of the bobeches. There are a few small traces of surface oxidation on the underside of the bobeches. The candelabrum presents beautifully in person. A fine example of this rare design.
