Description

  • Elizabeth Burton
  • Pair of Shell Bookends
  • shell and hand-hammered brass

Condition

Overall in very good condition. The mounted shells are in very good condition, both with a few minute flea-bite size losses along the outside edges. The hand-wrought brass surfaces appear to retain their original patina, which show tarnish, surface soiling, and a few light surface scratches consistent with age and gentle use. The brass backs with some traces of surface oxidation and discoloration. The bookends display beautifully in person with impressive workmanship.
