text: surat banu isra'el (xvii), vv.105-end; surat al-kahf (xviii), v.1 
Arabic manuscript leaf on vellum, 9 lines per page written in neat Maghribi script in brown ink, gold trefoil devices between verses, fifth verses marked with a gold scallop-shaped device, large illuminated triangular device in margin on verso (probably marking a sajda point), sura heading written in gold Kufic script with an illuminated stylized palemette extending into the margin

Condition

In good overall condition, vellum generally fresh and clean, one very small hole to the middle right of the verso text block, a few minor stains, otherwise ink strong on both sides,, gold slightly faded, as viewed.

The script and general style of this Maghribi Qur'an leaf is typical of western Islamic manuscript production of the 12th-14th centuries. However, the quality and refined detail of the illumination is noteworthy.
