"Philosophy asked: What is an object of art? Now painting asks: Why should a color be of an object at all, why can't color escape objects altogether?  But it equally asks: Why should objects "have" color (or set of colors) at all, why can't objects escape color altogether?"  Michael Fried (Exh. Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is minor surface soiling and staining. There is a minor area of raised canvas to the upper center edge, likely due to the artists streching of the canvas. The canvas is not lined.
