- AN IMPRESSIVE RENAISSANCE STYLE CRUCIFIX FORM VERGE WATCH CIRCA 1880
- silver
- height 80 mm, width 60 mm
• gilt full plate verge movement, finely chiselled, bearing the name Etienne Bordier • dial in the centre of the crucifix, Roman numerals, each corners decorated with biblical figures, a representation of Adam and Eve at the bottom • crucifix decorated to the sides with glass panels
Condition
Movement not running while cataloguing, a service will be required in the future for it to be fully operational. Dial with missing hour hands, signs of tarnishing. Case with signs of tarnishing due to aging and missing one glass panel at the bottom. Overall, this is a good example of a Renaissance style form watch from the Viennese school end of nineteenth century.
