Description

Designed as a Latin cross of horizontal open work design, applied with a shamrock design in polychrome enamel, the reverse chased with the design in relief, maker's mark, Robert Phillips, Phillips Bros & Son.

Condition

Scratched inventory number. Slight chips to white and dark green enamel, dark red and black in good condition. Weighing approximately 27.7 grams. Scratches consistent with age and wear, small indentation to reverse of pendant. In good condition.

By 1851 the firm Phillips Brothers located at 31 Cockspur Street appeared to be under the control of Robert Phillips.  He became one of London's most prominent jewellers and took part in the Paris Exhibition in 1867.
