Description
- ruby, diamond, emerald, cultured pearl
Comprising: a chased brooch designed as an eagle, set with calibré-cut emeralds, a cabochon ruby eye, circular-cut and rose diamonds, circa 1900, suspending a later cultured pearl drop; a brooch designed as a reindeer set with rose diamonds, to a collar of faceted rubies, Late 19th Century, later cultured pearl drop and pin, one leg damaged; together with a brooch of flower spray design set with circular-cut rubies and rose-cut diamonds, Late 19th Century, part illustrated.
Condition
Eagle brooch: Stamped 18ct for 18 carat gold. Emeralds well matched in colour, some chipped. Principal diamond weighing approximately 0.25 carats, yellowish green tint, estimated clarity VS2, strong fluorescence. Later drop, cultured pearl measuring approximately 9.2 x 7.1mm. Chasing to reverse, slightly tarnished could benefit from a careful professional clean.
Reindeer: Diamonds bright, mixed colours and clarities, one larger stone cracked. Cultured pearl drop fitting later and with traces of glue. Outer leg on right damaged, leg behind a little bent, gold split on reverse and one small diamond deficient. Rubies well matched in colour.
Flower brooch: probably mounted in silver, tarnished. Pin a little bent, traces of solder to reverse not visible when worn.
