Comprising: a brooch/pendant of open work two tone organic design, set with cabochon emeralds, variously cut sapphires and accented with brilliant-cut diamonds, maker's mark AMG for Alan Martin Gard, British hallmarks for London, 1970, together with a pair of earrings of similar design, unsigned, clip fittings, drops detachable.

Condition

AMG maker's mark for Alan Martin Gard. Earrings: Sapphires medium dark blue, well matched stones. Emeralds medium green, diamonds bright and lively stones. Earrings divided in two parts, linked by a flexible pendent loop, one is slightly loose. Secure strong clasp. coarse texture. In very good condition. Brooch: Sapphires medium dark blue, well matched stones. Emeralds medium green, diamonds bright and lively stones, well matched stones. Coarse texture, slight scratches to mount at the back consisteny with wear. Safety catch to pin, flexible pendent loop. In very good condition.

Catalogue Note

Alan Martin Gard born in London,1935, was both a contemporary and friend to Andrew Grima working together for four years in the early 60's.  Gard's designs often use texture taking inspiration from nature displaying an organic contemporary design.  Gard was at his height of popularity in the 1970s making pieces for both commission and his own collections.
