Catalogue Note

Louis Delaître received master 1738. He had a reputation for being an excellent ébéniste and produced furniture in his workshop in Rue Saint-Nicolas which at the beginning of Louis XV`s reign was still very much in the Régence style.

For comparison, see another commode by Delaître sold Christie`s Paris, Important Mobilier et Objets D`Art,  19th December 2007, lot 268.
