Description

  • 239cm. high, 152.5cm. wide, 51cm. deep; 7ft.10in., 5ft., 1ft. 8in.
the interior fitted with four goncalo alves shelves and sides, the sides applied with foliate masks, the doors with later glass

Condition

In overall very presentable condition. The surface has been finished with a dark and glossy polish and has some marks and signs of wear in places. The doors are in good sound condition. There is a missing section to the division between the doors at the top with further, more minor, losses below. The lower panel to the left door has a repaired split with some replaced inlay to the affected area. The right foot has some "sprung" inlay which is partially detached. There some losses to the brass inlay on the right side of the armoire; these missing sections have been filled in. A section of brass inlay to the left hand side has been detached but is retained. A decorative armoire of impressive proportions with especially fine and intricate inlay.
