Anna Bennett, Five Centuries of Tapestry, The Fine Art Museums of San Francisco, 1992, pp.200-203, illustrates and discusses two portraits of the Madonna and Child, both with metal-threads, one of which is signed I.D.Melter (weaver in Brussels and Lille, late 17th century). See Christie's London, 14th November 2002, lot 184, for oval tapestry depicting Christ with the Crown of Thorns, with consideration of Melter as the weaver.
